24 Sep BCDC, ADEVCO Break Ground on Self-Storage Projects in Birmingham, Columbus
Projects Are Latest Programmatic Joint-Venture Between Atlanta Developers
Atlanta (September 24, 2019) — Continuing its successful partnership, BCDC and ADEVCO will jointly development two climate controlled self-storage facilities in Columbus, Ga. and Birmingham, Ala. respectively. Branded and managed by Extra Space Storage, the new projects by the joint venture join the under-construction Extra Space Storage in Dunwoody, Ga.

The team is building the three-story climate-controlled Extra Space Storage in Columbus on a 2.76-acre site at 7350 Blackmon Road. The 100,080 square-foot building will have 780 secure units. Grand Opening is expected in the summer of 2020. Georgia’s Own Credit Union is providing financing.
Birmingham Extra Space Storage, 2864 Acton Road, is in Vestavia Hills on a 2.57-acre site. The 100,050 square foot building will be three stories and have 732 climate-controlled and secure units. A September 2020 opening is anticipated. Great Southern Bank is providing financing.
The 84,375 square-foot, three-story Extra Space Storage at 4444 N. Shallowford Road in Dunwoody, Ga. is in line to open later this year.
Stindard Architecture is the architect and Woolard Attman Construction Inc. is the General Contractor on both projects.
