908 Group and Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC) have started Gator Walk, an 85-unit, 294-bed purpose-built student housing community with direct pedestrian access to the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
The site is close to Greek-life housing, on-campus classrooms and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, home of the Florida Gators football team. The property will be comprised of a mid-rise, six-story apartment structure along with three three-story townhomes.
With market-leading amenities catering to the University of Florida students, Gator Walk will have an expansive rooftop deck with pool area, modern fitness center, private study centers, computer center, social lounge with kitchen, TVs, and multiple gaming areas, and bicycle and scooter storage and parking. The units will be fully furnished and include bed-bath parity.
“We are thrilled to be joining 908 in our second student housing project in Gainesville,” said Litt Glover, President and CEO, BCDC. “We have an excellent site and an exceptional team that knows this market and our target demographic.”
“We are very excited to be partnering once again with BCDC on a product that meets the needs of the students at the University of Florida,” said Brian Detri, Managing Director of 908 Group.
Gator Walk will include one through five-bedroom units and four through six-bedroom townhomes. The unit sizes range from 499 to 2,688 square feet, with an average size of 1,343 square feet.
Cadence Bank is providing the financing. The Gator Walk project team is well-versed in the construction of student housing assets in Gainesville and includes general contractor ARCO Murray and architect Design Styles Architecture.
Gator Walk is expected to welcome students for the 2022 school year.
