Brett Schwenneker joined Batson-Cook Development Company in 2026 as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Brett leads the accounting and corporate finance functions, while working with leadership to execute the company’s business plan.
Brett has spent over 20 years working in the commercial real estate industry for Atlanta-based development and management companies with a national footprint. After starting his career with PwC in their financial services assurance practice, Brett spent time with Wood Partners as they grew into a Top 5 NMHC national multifamily developer. After that, Brett served as the Vice President of Accounting with Cousins Properties as they closed on a multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Texas-based TIER REIT. Most recently, Brett served as the Chief Accounting Officer for CP Group, helping to guide its growth into the largest commercial office landlord in Florida and the second largest in the Atlanta metro.
Brett is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia and obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. He also serves on the Board of NAREC, a national commercial real estate accounting and finance industry group.
