11 Apr BCDC, Fuqua Break Ground on Publix-Anchored Retail Center in Lexington, Ky.
The programmatic joint venture partnership between BCDC and Fuqua Development has broken ground on its 15th project, a nearly 70,000-square-foot Publix-anchored retail center in Lexington, Ky.
BCDC is an opportunistic real estate development investment company, and Fuqua Development is a real estate development firm specializing in urban retail mixed-use supercenters. Both companies are based in Atlanta, Ga.

Located on Citation Boulevard on a 25-acre site, the center is in a fast-growing area near the University of Kentucky’s Coldstream Research Campus, an economic development center at the gateway to Lexington’s high-tech and higher education corridor. The business park is also home to a 225-acre city park connected to the 12-mile Legacy Trail.
First Carolina Bank is the lender and Philips Partnership is the architect. The JV partners anticipate completion in the third quarter of 2024.
